1| Fresh Fruit

Your possibilities are endless with fruit! Blackberries, blueberries, kiwi, lemons, limes, melons, oranges, peaches, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, etc. — or any combination of fruit — makes for a healthy, tasty glass of water. When you use an infuser bottle, it makes flavoring your water with fresh fruit a lot easier. I love the Zulay Kitchen Fruit Infusion Water Bottle because it’s leak-proof and includes a built-in filter that prevents seeds from being infused with your water.

2| Fresh Vegetables

Just like fruit, several vegetables make for a tasty addition to water. Great choices include cucumbers and fresh ginger root. Add your sliced veggies to water, allow to infuse for at least 4 hours, then enjoy! They can be mixed with fruits or herbs and spices to create unique flavors.

3| Herbs/Spices

Mint leaves, cinnamon sticks, lavender, nutmeg, cloves, cayenne peppers, etc. can be mixed with your fruits and/or veggies to add a whole new dimension of flavor to your water. The leaves will infuse best when they are chopped or muddled.

Using this cocktail muddler is a great way to create a delicious blend of mint or parsley leaves in your water!

6| Juice

The simple addition of juice to water can help add some flavor to your day. Try to aim for juices that don’t include added sugar. You can also use a juicer to squeeze your favorite fruits such as lemons, oranges, or grapefruits!

7| Sweeteners

If a little sweetness is all you need to up your water intake, try a powder or liquid low glycemic sweetener.

8| Apple Cider Vinegar

I don’t recommend apple cider vinegar water if you have overly sensitive teeth. The ACV adds acidity like citrus fruits so drink it with a straw and don’t over-do it. By using an ACV that includes the mother, you’re adding a blast of flavor and immunity boosters that include numerous health benefits.

9| Mineral Salt

The addition of mineral salt to water can actually improve the amount of water that your body absorbs. Adding ⅛ of a teaspoon per 8 ounces to your glass will transform it into an electrolyte drink. Electrolytes help regulate nerve and muscle function, hydrate your body, and balance blood acidity and pressure!

10| Carbonation

Personally, I’m not a fan of carbonated water; however, I know a lot of people who LOVE it! If you’re one of them, I recommend investing in a SodaStream machine. They have flavored carbonation bottles to give you the feeling and taste of soda without all the junk!
