A bowl full of chicken and rice with warm peach compote is a sweet and savory dish that the entire family will love!

Chicken and Rice with Peach Sauce

Step up the flavor of your chicken and rice dinner with a tasty warm peach sauce. When I was working on my peach pies today, I whipped up some peach sauce that would accompany our chicken rice dinner. One of the ways I like to change up the flavor with this quick and easy dish is with spices. But adding a bit of sweet to a savory dish helped step up my dinner game.

Pre-made peach sauce will enable you to put this chicken and rice dinner on the table in less than 20 minutes!

Chicken and rice is also a cheap meal. If you’re not fond of white rice, any vegetables can serve as a tasty alternative. In particular, we love broccoli!

When I cook, I like to make extra to use for our work lunches or to leave reusable leftovers the next day. I have pulled the meat from leftover chicken bones and served this with shredded chicken. It’s just as tasty as it is when you use boneless, skinless chicken!

The peach sauce is best when it’s prepared a few days in advance. This gives the flavors a chance to fully develop. It’s amazing when used on chicken, pork or fish. And it goes without saying (yet here I am, saying it) that’s delicious on top of muffins, scones, or used as a cake layer! This is not a canning recipe, but it can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days without any issues.
