In our house, BBQ sauce is a staple sauce that we keep in our refrigerator. This sauce is one of my favorites to make up a batch when I know we will be enjoying chicken thighs, pork chops, or even beef steaks. Feel free to adjust the amount of Jack in the recipe to suit your personal flavor preference.
When I use this sauce on chicken thighs, I like to pull the skin back, baste the chicken, then apply more on top. I love this High Performance Silicone Kitchen Brush Set!
A Smooth Finish…
We chose Gentleman Jack for our recipe because of the exceptionally smooth finish that comes from the second charcoal mellowing. That smoothness is what made us choose Gentleman Jack for our sauce as to bring all of the sweet and smoky flavors together for a grand finale. This 80 proof whiskey has a balanced oak flavor with notes of vanilla and caramel.
Gentleman Jack’s BBQ Sauce
Enjoy a BBQ sauce that includes a smooth finishing taste of Gentleman Jack's Whiskey! Perfect for chicken, pork, or beef!
- 1 cup Gentleman Jack
- 6 cloves Garlic (fresh, finely chopped)
- 1 cup Onions (finely chopped)
- 4 cups Ketchup
- 2/3 cup White Vinegar
- 1 1/4 cups Molasses
- 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Tomato Paste
- 1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Red Pepper Flakes (+/- depending on your hotness level desired)
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 tablespoon Dried Mustard
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Gentleman Jack
In a medium sauce pan (I use my 12" cast iron), combine the Gentleman Jack, onions and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
Combine all other ingredients in a separate bowl.
Carefully pour into the pan and stir.
Bring mixture to a gently rolling boil, stirring consistently.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
Add 2 tablespoons of Gentleman Jack and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
Add to your favorite cut of meat! It's perfect for chicken, pork, or beef. I like to also dip French fries and potato wedges in the sauce.
Store the remaining sauce in an airtight container and refrigerate. Can be stored for up to one week in the refrigerator.
