Girls Day Out Fun Ideas in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Have gal pals is important for all women. This is particular true for when we experience the grand changes of life – breakups, marriages, divorces, kids, moving, or simply dealing with the things that life throws at us. It can often be difficult to maintain friendship bonds through all of these changes. It is not uncommon for us to lose contact with one another.
Setting aside special time to spend with these important women in our life should become a part of our regular routines. The perfect outing can happen anywhere, as long as you have the best, most supportive of your friends with you.
These outings do not have to be expensive. If you can splurge, that is great! But you can get creative to make the much-needed outings happen for all budgets.
Discover a few ideas you can experience an exciting and fun Girls Day Out in our little ol’ Lynchburg, Tennessee!
1| Lynchburg Winery Wine Tasting
Step into a comforting environment at Lynchburg Winery and enjoy a wine tasting! The winery offers handcrafted sweet southern style wines as well as traditional dry and sweet varieties. No reservations are required for the tastings. For only $5.00, you can try 5 wines of your choice and keep your glass as a souvenir to remember your special girls’ day out event!
My personal favorites are the Blackberry (seasonal and goes QUICKLY!) and the Serendipity. Check out the website and Facebook pages for current taste menu options. One of the best times to go and enjoy a tasting is during the cooler, winter months. If you’ve been stuck inside, get out and get warm with the inviting environment you’ll receive from the staff.
The winery is located on the Lynchburg Historic Square at 34 Hiles Street next to Lynchburg Distillery – American Craft Distillers.
2| Lynchburg Distillery Taste Test
Ten years ago if you had asked me about having a drink on the Lynchburg Square, I would have laughed and said it would never happen. Now, in addition to the Lynchburg Winery, we have the Lynchburg Distillery – American Craft Distillers. They offer an assortment of handcrafted whisky, rum, vodka, and moonshine.
Located at 34 Hiles Street, Lynchburg, Tennessee directly next to the winery, continue the fun with a taste test at the distillery, too!
3| A Girls Day Out Needs Candy – Velma’s Candy!
Handcrafted chocolates and old-fashioned candy are the sweetest way to enjoy a good time with your gal pals! Velma’s Candy is locally- and woman-owned. They offer an assortment of goodies including chocolate-covered Oreos, apples, and candy that you will remember from your childhood.
4| Tims Ford State Park
If you and your friends love being active and outdoors, consider Tims Ford State Park! This gem located in Franklin/Moore Counties, contains 6.5 miles of unpaved hiking trails, in addition to 22 miles of biking trails that can be used to hike, too. One of the trails curves around the shoreline near the marina. Pets are allowed, but they must be on a leash at all times and current on vaccinations. In addition to hiking, you can rent boats, enjoy a round of golf, or go fishing!
5| Photo Ops
Bring along your phones or cameras and snap as many photos as possible! A few Girls Day Out Ideas for photo ops include:
6| Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour of Lynchburg

Enjoy delicious, southern food at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House and Restaurant! The downhome cooked meals will bring you together in the way Mr. Jack used to enjoy. Located at 295 Main Street, Lynchburg, Tennessee, just off the historic square. Reservations are recommended.
9| Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company
One of my favorite Girls Day Out Ideas is a trip to the Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company! You can stop by and see how their delicious treats are made. They are home to the famous Lynchburg Whiskey Cake, in addition to Praline Pecans and Whiskey Balls.
Does your gal pal group love animals? Give the Friends of Animals Rescue and Adoption Center a call to see if you can volunteer your time to help with the animals, cleaning cages, etc. They also accept donations via PayPal, in-person at the rescue center or Lynchburg Vet Hospital.
